Manchester, UK-based Grosvenor Packaging recently took delivery of a new large format semi automatic stitcher/gluer from ID Machinery.
The machine is in the new line of MIDAS equipment imported from China by ID and then updated with European safety and controls and CE certified at their works in Milton Keynes.
The MD Plus 1645 Semi automatic machine features automatic rising feed table, servo driven and moveable stitching head, Quma GX1 cold glue system, colour HMI touch screen and batch counter ejector. Capable of large boxes with a sheet size up to 4500mm and triple wall, despite the heavy duty nature, the machine affords a sensible footprint, key in most plants, where space is a premium.
Martin Hodson, Managing Director of Grosvenor commented, “We were familiar with the Midas brand, having purchased a hand platen from ID Machinery many years ago, so we had no hesitation opting for this machine. Coupled with the long standing relationship we have with ID and the fact that they were amenable to part exchange made the whole process seamless.”
John Brasier, Sales Director of ID Machinery continues, “We have evolved the Midas brand to replace a number of used machine types that traditionally we would have offered reconditioned. As rebuilding of these machines is now not economically viable, a quality budget new machine fills the gap perfectly. The Midas range includes stitchers, semi auto, fully auto and crashlok gluers, small printer slotters and automatic slitters.”
Brasier concludes, “These complement perfectly our other new machinery, be it flexo from JC, die-cutting from Century, strapping from Transpak , digital print from Wonderjet and digital cutting from Sinajet.”
